ProCredit Bank launches special Green Building Finance Programme with Sintali-SGS
The ProCredit Bank Head Office has become the first green building in Georgia to obtain the international EDGE certification. EDGE, which stands for Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies, was created by IFC, member of the World Bank Group, to help quantify resource-efficiency in buildings. To achieve the EDGE standard, a building must be 20% more efficient in energy, water and the embodied energy in materials compared to a local baseline. Receiving this prestigious certification inspired the bank to develop a green initiative to promote environmentally friendly construction in the country.
For this purpose, ProCredit Bank has developed a special financing programme to help customers and developers build and purchase sustainable energy-efficient buildings. The initiative aims to finance green construction under attractive conditions (standard -0.5%). Sintali-SGS will help companies successfully navigate the EDGE certification process. Through this partnership, ProCredit customers will also benefit from special discounts from Sintali-SGS to undergo EDGE certification
The programme will be introduced to a wider audience on 11/02/2021 at 17:00 as part of an online event.

Why green building?
There are many benefits to building green. Certified green buildings have a higher property value and lower operational costs. The advantages of green building also include a stronger brand and increased market visibility, as well as increased interest from international investors, the ability to obtain financing at a special interest rate, and third-party verification of a company’s social responsibility.
“Green buildings are a world trend and are now coming to Georgia. ProCredit Bank has already gone through this process and is now ready to share the experience it has gained and support other businesses. Individuals who have registered for the seminar will be the first to understand the terms of the innovative project, learn about the EDGE certification programme, and receive more information about the benefits of green construction. The partnership with Sintali-SGS will help provide businesses with the additional support they need to get started with green buildings. We hope that by providing the new service and offering further incentives, we will be able to help build a sustainable future,” commented Ketevan Kekelashvili, Head of Environmental Protection at ProCredit Bank.
